The 10th edition of the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema will be opening with a premiere presentation of Brent Green’s first full-length feature film, Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then.

Based on the true story of Kentucky hardware clerk Leonard Wood, the film tells a poignant, darkly humourous love story of a man who built a bizarre, sprawling house for his wife by hand, with the hope that it would cure her of terminal cancer.

Created in a signature stop-motion animation style using live actors, the intensely atmospheric film will be presented for the first time with Green’s original music compositions synchronised to the screening live, by Green and Drew Henkels on guitar, Donna K on percussion, John Swartz on cello, Brendan Canty (Fugazi) on drums, and Mike McGinley and Alan Scalpone (The Bitter Tears) on horns.

Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then premieres Thursday November 18th, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Festival theatre.
